Wonderful Rajasthan

Visiting various cities of Rajasthan namely Jaipur, Udaipur, Pushkar, Ranakpur, Jaisalmer and Jodhpur.

Rajasthan, one of the culturally rich states of India, attracts tourists from all over the world because of its royal lineage and colourful lifestyle. Literally meaning 'Land of Kings' or 'Land of Kingdoms', Rajasthan is located on the western side of India. Jaipur is the largest city and the capital of Rajasthan and is also one of the famous tourist destinations for ethnic shopping and visiting historical monuments. Also known as Pink City, Jaipur is a part of Golden Triangle tourist route i.e. Delhi-Agra-Jaipur. The Golden Triangle is called so because of the triangular shape formed by Delhi, Agra and Jaipur on the map. The other popular tourist destinations of Rajasthan are Udaipur, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Mount Abu (the one and only hill station of Rajasthan), Bikaner and Bharatpur. Udaipur is called as the City of Lakes and Venice of the East and was founded by Maharana Udai Singh in 1559 CE. The city is surrounded by Aravali Ranges, lakes and forests and therefore creates a picturesque environment. Jodhpur is the second largest city of Rajasthan and features numerous palaces, temples and forts. It is also called as the Blue City because of the blue-painted houses located near the Mehrangarh Fort. Recently, Mihir Garh hotel which is situated in Jodhpur was named first in the list of top ten extraordinary hotels in the world 2014 by Lonely Planet. Undoubtedly, Rajasthan is a wonderful state of India which must be explored by everyone at least once in their lifetime.
